In 2004, Shaler Area was one of four schools to initiate a fall slow pitch softball program.  At that time four teams competed against one another in hopes of growing a league into a fall competitive club sport.  In 2014, the Shaler Area school board voted to promote slow pitch softball as a club sport within the district.   Currently over 45 teams competed at the junior high, junior varsity and varsity levels throughout the Pittsburgh region in a league known as the Western Pennsylvania Interscholastic Softball League (WPISL).

In our inaugural club season, Shaler Area fielded four teams in the WPISL.  Forty plus student/athletes were honored at our annual awards banquet.

In 2015 we took the steps necessary to grow our organization in hopes of providing additional opportunities for girls in grades 7 through 12 to represent their school.  Representing Shaler Area in a team atmosphere can provide a sense of honor and help develop young leaders for our future.

This is a very exciting time for Shaler Area Slow Pitch Softball and the future of our club.  Consider joining us to help make it a success.
