Four hits from Megan Haynes helped lead Shaler Area Junior Varsity Titans past North Allegheny 23-9 on Sunday.  Haynes doubled in the first, doubled in the second, tripled in the third, and singled in the fourth.

 

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Shaler Area Junior Varsity Titans collected 26 hits and North Allegheny 15 in the high-scoring affair

 

North Allegheny got things started in the first inning when Player singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

 

Shaler Area Junior Varsity Titans evened things up at three in the bottom of the first inning when Haynes doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.

 

Shaler Area Junior Varsity Titans pulled away for good with 12 runs in the second inning.  In the second Savannah Yount singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs, Olivia Sperl homered on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs, Haynes doubled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs, Tia Jarosinski tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run, Ella Sheets doubled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run, Hailey Miles singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run, and Yount doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

 

Shaler Area Junior Varsity Titans smacked two home runs on the day. Sperl had a long ball in the second inning. Yount went for the long ball in the first inning.

 

Shaler Area Junior Varsity Titans tallied 26 hits.  Haynes, Hannah Guiste, Jarosinski, Tessa Bursick, Yount, Sheets, Miles, Ashlee Woodrick, and Sperl each managed multiple hits for Shaler Area Junior Varsity Titans.  Guiste and Haynes each managed four hits to lead Shaler Area Junior Varsity Titans.
